Who we are
We are building a community of children from different social backgrounds so that they can become socially sensitive and resourceful adults.
Our goal
With Kacsakő, we establish a secure and inclusive space for children from diverse social backgrounds to come together and learn from one another. Our objective is to unite children from various backgrounds, including Roma and non-Roma, representing minority and majority groups, both from economically disadvantaged and middle-class families. We aim to reduce prejudice and social gaps while supporting their psychosocial development. We assist children in resolving conflicts within a safe setting and encourage them to understand each other’s perspectives. We believe that through these efforts, we help shape socially aware and resilient adults capable of handling misunderstandings in their lives.
We believe that inclusive sports and adventure programs help reduce children’s prejudices and empower them to communicate their interests. Our programs are based on non-formal, experiential, and outdoor learning methods. We place a particular emphasis on fair play sports as they serve a universal language that bridges cultural differences.
Our story
Meet the team
Just like the children, we also come from a diverse range of backgrounds: our volunteers include intercultural experts, psychologists, special education teachers, sports coaches, engineers, and professionals working for various multinational companies. We have a wide range of knowledge and experience, which makes our work colorful and exciting. Every quarter, we hold team-building events for our volunteer team, enriched with training and case discussions, to develop our professional skills together.
Here you can see some of our key team members, but we also work with many dedicated volunteers without whom our programs would not be possible. Although not everyone is pictured here, they are all important members of our team.
